Sip and Support RWN

Raise your glass for “Beaujolais Day” with a virtual wine tasting that helps support RWN! Celebrated in France on the third Thursday of every November, Beaujolais Day is when the “Nouveau” (new) wine is permitted to be released under French law.

Join us for a delightful and educational happy hour presented by Matt Yaeger of Pinnacle Wine & Liquor. He will guide a tasting of two different wines, including origin and flavor profile, and talk about the significance of Beaujolais Day. Guests will be invited to open a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau, which is the star of Beaujolais Day as this year’s vintage, and a bottle of Beaujolais Villages, a more mature vintage to compare with the Nouveau.

And what is a wine tasting without cheese and chocolate? A paired cheese tray will accompany the Beaujolais wines, as well as two expertly paired chocolate truffles from local chocolatier Jennifer Posey, founder of Hedonist Chocolates

Included with the price of the ticket is your “Beaujolais Day Kit,” featuring:

  • 1 bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau

  • 1 bottle of Beaujolais Villages

  • 2 Hedonist chocolate truffles

  • 1 cheese tray

Participants may pick up their kits on Wednesday, Nov. 18 - more details to follow registration .

About Jennifer Posey and Hedonist Chocolates:

Founder Jennifer Posey created Hedonist Artisan Chocolates in 2007 because she wanted a lifestyle where she could use her hands, explore her passion for food, create art, use all of her senses, and put her curiosity to work. Jennifer wanted to use chocolate as the medium to recreate memories of events in her life and to share this with others. When you eat Hedonist Chocolate, you are tasting memories such as: when her uncle gave her a taste of eggnog; a goat cheese strawberry balsamic salad she loved; or the magical feeling of receiving a fancy box of chocolates. Hedonist Artisan Chocolates encourages you to use your senses of taste, touch, smell, and sight, and share in the love and memories.

Matt Yaeger is a Fairport native and graduate of SUNY Buffalo. He manages his family business, Pinnacle Wine & Liquor in Brighton, NY. After a brief stint in the insurance business, Matt took a month-long backpacking trip to Europe and fell in love with the food and wine culture there. Visits to distilleries in Scotland and wineries in the south of France made him realize that his true passion was in the wine business. When he isn’t working with his clients and tasting wine you’ll find Matt cooking, travelling abroad, playing squash, attending concerts, and playing guitar.
